Could Veneers Address Your Concerns?
Veneers cover the front surfaces of teeth and may help address concerns about shape, color, chips, or gaps. Dr. Dawson starts with what you want to change and evaluates your teeth, gums, and bite.
Veneers usually involve removing some enamel, which is irreversible. No-prep treatment is suitable only for selected patients. Whitening, bonding, or orthodontic treatment may meet your goals with less change to the teeth.

Choosing an Appropriate Approach
Porcelain veneers and tooth-colored composite bonding have different strengths, maintenance needs, and costs. The condition of your teeth and your goals help guide the recommendation.
Dr. Dawson discusses material and design options after evaluation. If a tooth has substantial damage or an existing large restoration, a crown may be more appropriate than a veneer.
Planning and Placing Veneers
Planning includes discussing the shape, shade, and changes you hope to make. Physical models, digital mock-ups, or temporary bonding in suitable cases may help you explore a proposed smile. A preview guides the discussion; it does not guarantee an exact result.
If you proceed, preparation and records are completed as needed for the selected design. Dr. Dawson checks the veneers and bite before bonding and arranges appropriate follow-up.
Care and Long-Term Maintenance
Brush with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth, and keep regular dental visits. Avoid chewing ice or using teeth as tools. Tell us if your bite feels different or a veneer becomes loose or damaged.
Veneers can chip, wear, or need repair or replacement. Teeth can still develop decay around a veneer, so continuing dental care matters.
Who Is a Candidate?
Healthy gums and teeth, bite forces, available enamel, and your expectations all matter. Decay and gum disease need attention before cosmetic treatment. Clenching or grinding may affect whether veneers are suitable and how they should be protected.
We can compare bonding, whitening, and other cosmetic options with veneers so you understand the tradeoffs.
